Registration OPEN for Fall 2017 Season

Registration is OPEN for FALL In House Soccer!

In-House regular registration ends July 31st after which a late fee applies.

In-House Registration closes August 15th.

In-House Program:

Southbury Soccer Club's In House (U4 - U8) programs introduce players to the game of soccer in a fun, non-competitive manner.  Focus is placed on development of basic soccer skills in preparation for travel programs.  All In House programs involve teams within Southbury Soccer Club only, and games are played on designated fields within the town.  Each program operates on a limited set of the rules of the game that is appropriate for that age level.

For more information on the Southbury Soccer In House program, click HERE.

Travel Program:

Travel programs within Southbury Soccer Club are for the U9 through U19 age groups.

A higher level of commitment is typically required for players desiring to play within Division A, which is the highest competitive level. Each division plays against comparable divisions from other towns within either the Northwest District or Southwest District of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association

Important Safety Reminders
Parents, Coaches and Managers,

As the spring season gets into full swing, for soccer and other local sports, there are a few very important safety reminders that we want to make sure everyone is aware of.

1) Drop off location - This is especially seen at Settlers Park where parents often pull over to the side of the Settlers driveways, either along the golf course or going towards the playscape, to let their child out of the car to cross the road and get onto the field.  We need to ask that this does not happen. It is very unsafe for the children to be running across the street, especially with all of the cars constantly moving in and out of the park. It's imperative that you pull into the parking lot and let your child proceed to the appropriate field from there.

2) Two adults present at all practices - As many (travel) teams have moved to professional coaches, it's still important to note that there needs to be 2 adults present at all practices. This is critical should a child need help from an adult (bathroom, injury, etc.), it allows one adult to help that child while the other adult stays with the rest of the children.

3) Goals and Sandbags - This is for our coaches and parent managers especially - all goals must be secured with sandbags for all practices and games.  Without those sandbags, it is easier than one would think for those goals to tip over and potentially cause serious injury to someone.

4) Unsupervised children - We have noticed at some practices and games, that siblings are often left unsupervised.  It's important that any children not participating in an official Southbury Soccer event are properly supervised throughout the entire activity.

5) Timely Pick up - We know that the unexpected can easily happen, but it is important that all children are picked up on time from all practices and games. Our parents and coaches often have other obligations, making it difficult for them to stay past the scheduled end time for a late pick up.

6) Weather/Thunderstorms  - Given we are prone to unexpected changes in the weather, especially in the spring, please be prepared for early pick ups from practices and/or games should the weather turn.

7) No Dogs Allowed on Fields - This is per the town of Southbury, but dogs are not allowed on the park fields during practices or games.

Thank you for your support in making sure we can provide a safe and fun environment for everyone involved in Southbury Soccer!

Sincerely,
Timothy Holland
Southbury Soccer Club
President
